The EUROPE_WORLD International Photography Call asked amateur and professional photographers to imagine, interpret and represent the concept of necessary and widespread networks in Europe, and between Europe and the world, networks that are the basis of the organization of the EUROPA/ system EUROPE - WORLD, shared and concretely interpreted by CITTASLOW INTERNATIONAL: exchange relationships, participatory processes, common paths and objectives, positive structures. Not isolated and disconnected segments, but closely connected entities capable of spreading the culture of good living through research, experimentation and the application of solutions for the organization of the city.
The Jury of the International Call composed of Gilberto Maltinti, President of the House of Photography in Rome, Pier Giorgio Oliveti, General Secretary of Cittaslow International, the art historian Francesca Boschetti, the journalist Enza Emira Festa and the photographer Ivan Benedetto have selected, chosen and awarded the photographs that best represented the concept of necessary networks conceived, tested and implemented in Europe and between Europe and the world. All the photographs on display highlight the concept of networks and the importance of interactions in different contexts, from information technology to ecology, from society to physical and territorial infrastructures, from traditional professions to those linked to AI, from communication to neural networks , from the physical object to the non-physical. The representation of these networks, and the "reticularity" that derives from them, is the basis of the call and its photographic exhibition.
Gilberto Maltinti, Pier Giorgio Oliveti, and Emanuela Bonavolta thank Europa Experience – David Sassoli for hosting the photographic exhibition EUROPE_WORLD.
