Vincenzo Egizio poses lying on a bed of pumpkins. Vincenzo Egizio, a farmer for generations, grows only and exclusively natural products, i.e. grown without chemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides, of native species of the Vesuvian area on the slopes of Mount Somma. The pumpkins in the photo are the entire season's harvest; Neapolitan long pumpkins, a native species indeed. Vincenzo was forced to collect them all from the field because the field mice, greedy for their seeds, were digging deep holes in the fruits to reach the inside in order to stock up on them. So Vincenzo crammed them into his warehouse. The harvest was abundant and to distribute them evenly Vincenzo completely covered the warehouse floor with pumpkins. The light, coming from the high windows of the warehouse, falling delicately on the pumpkin floor, creates a surreal atmosphere that inspired the set of the photo.
