Date:25 September - 18 October 2020

Location: Rome

Time:6 pm – 11 pm

Heir to Rome's Month of Photography, La Casa della Fotografia has organized WEFO2020. From January to December, its mission was to involve the Roman photographic world, digital and analogue, to create an open source cultural dissemination network, which connects the places and activities of professional and amateur photographers, photographic studios, photography schools, teachers, associations, photography enthusiasts, cultural circles, foundations, libraries, galleries and spaces, museums, development/printing laboratories, specialized bookstores. All protagonists then, to unite the photographic realities that work in the urban fabric of the capital and those that come from other Italian regions. The WEFO format is a prototype also adopted by other major European capitals, such as Paris and Amsterdam, and has as its premise the freeness, exchange and sharing of means and knowledge. From September to October, thousands of enthusiasts attended photographic exhibitions by professionals and amateurs, meetings with authors, free education, photowalks, talks, seminars and workshops, photographic aperitifs and events. Hundreds of events were organized, all free of charge, by the Roman photographic world to create a network of free cultural dissemination open to the whole city. WEFO2020 has thus "connected the dots" that connect the places and activities of professional and amateur photographers, photographic studios, photography schools, teachers, associations, photography enthusiasts, cultural clubs, foundations, libraries, galleries and spaces, museums, laboratories and specialized bookstores. They were the protagonists of WEFO2020 from Friday 25 September to Sunday 18 October 2020, all the photographic realities that work in the urban fabric of the capital and those that come from other Italian regions, in order to create a network that works in synergy to increase photographic culture in Italy as it happens in other European countries. This is to tell the dense plot of the state of the art of photography in Italy and in particular in the capital. Gilberto Maltinti, President of the Casa della Fotografia in Rome, thanks the great international photographer Angelo Raffaele Turetta for giving his photo poster of WEFO2020
